Fri, 09/30/2011 - 07:50 — Anonymous Hongkong Post will hold "One Person,
One Letter" Free Post Day on October 9, the date marking the establishment of
the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874 and subsequently declared World Post
Day by the UPU Congress in 1969. "Letters are a powerful way to convey tender
love and care. In an era when personal interactions are increasingly
dominated by electronic means, expression by writing carries unique
sentimental meaning. To encourage people to connect to somebody special,
Hongkong Post is pleased to hold the 'One Person, One Letter' Free Post Day
for the eighth consecutive year," said Acting Postmaster General Mr Eddie
Mak. On Free Post Day, everyone may send a letter free of postage to any
designated recipient in Hong Kong. Special collection boxes will be placed at
all post offices (except the two mobile ones) to receive these letters from
October 7 to 9. The letters will be delivered on October 10. Relevant details
are attached. Further information about "One Person, One Letter" Free Post
Day may be obtained from any post office, the website of Hongkong Post at
www.hongkongpost.com, or via the Hongkong Post hotline on 2921 2222. Appendix
