Sun, 06/12/2011 - 09:00 — Anonymous Hongkong Post today (June 12) announced
that a set of "children's" stamps on the theme "Chinese idioms and their
stories" will be released for sale together with associated philatelic
products on June 28. Building on the success achieved with the first issue in
2006, Hongkong Post is releasing a second set of stamps aimed specifically to
enhance the knowledge and interest of children in traditional Chinese
culture. The design of these colourful and lively stamps is based on five
idioms and their related stories - "mutual help in hard times", "water drops
wear away rocks", "practice makes perfect", "save to give" and "as deft as a
master butcher". Matching stickers are also available that could be attached
to the souvenir sheet to add to the fun. Official First Day Covers will be
put on sale for $1 each at all post offices effective from June 14.
Meanwhile, the stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at
the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and
Sha Tin Central Post Office on the same day. Advance orders for servicing
self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from June 14
to 20. Further information may be obtained from the website of Hongkong Post
at www.hongkongpost.com. Appendix Special stamp issue - "Chinese idioms and
